Dentures are an option to replace missing teeth. If a person is missing all their teeth, a complete denture can be fabricated. They are removable and are held in place by suction. Adhesives can be used if necessary. Implants can be placed as well for further retention of the denture.
Partial dentures are necessary when multiple teeth are missing. They are made up of one or more artificial teeth held in place by clasps that fit onto nearby natural teeth. They can be taken out at night to allow your tissues to heal and also to clean the denture.
